Ian Mallon Solicitors settled a medical malpractice claim against the HSE.
The case was to a successful outcome in the High Court in Dublin recently. Mr David McGrath S.C was instructed.
The case involved the incorrect fitting of a Plaster of Paris causing severe damage to the injured area. The client suffered loss of use of the limb as a result.
The case was presented with detailed medical evidence setting out how the Hospital was negligent as well as having evidence from a number of other experts setting out the financial losses incurred to date and into the future.
When presenting such cases (which cannot be dealt with by the Injuries Board) it is important to instruct Solicitors who retain the correct experts to prove liability as well as to set out the full losses suffered by a claimant.
